Being a kitesurfer

What is kitesurfing?

Kitesurfing is a watersport that combines elements of other sports such as surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding. Kitesurfing involves using wind power to propel the rider across the water on a board known as a kiteboard. There are a number of different styles such as freestyle and speed kitesurfing. It is gaining popularity and is now one of the most popular adventure sports! The sport can be enjoyed in the ocean, rivers, and lakes.

My kitesurfing journey

My name is Eli and I am a Huku brand ambassador. I have been kitesurfing for approximately three years now. I fell in love with it straight away. I love the freedom kitesurfing offers. Once you are out on the kite, there are no other problems. It is just you and the ocean! I can stay focused on the present moment.

I love everything about the sport, but sometimes I can get quite frustrated when I fall trying to learn a new trick. Additionally, putting on a cold, damp wetsuit in the mornings can be annoying!

I get to practise all over the world. Each country has its own kitesurfing season. I follow the wind to the best destinations! This takes me travelling all across the globe looking for the best spots!

The importance of Balance

For the sport as a whole, having excellent balance is crucial. Balance training improves coordination, which is essential for learning new skills. Huku Balance Boards are excellent for kitesurfers of all levels. They help improve balance while simultaneously enhancing core strength, coordination and mobility. Having a strong core is also extremely important. Using a balance board to strengthen the core is advantageous since the benefits will transfer to the kiteboard.

Which Huku Balance Board is best for Kitesurfing?

The Huku Nalu Combo is the best option for board riders in general. It is popular among snowboarders, surfers, and kitesurfers. It comes with two rollers, which allow you to roll in both orientations. You can ride heel to toe on the ultra-long roller, simulating motions used in various board sports. All this without the need to get out on the water! Huku Boards are made from sustainable natural materials. They also come with a lifetime guarantee, helping you with kitesurfing for years to come!
